Style Trifecta: Men, braids, and grooming tips

With tons of celebrities sporting all types of styles, sexy men braids are a hot topic. It seems that the public can't enough. What's not to love about braids for men? It's a very attractive and unique hair style.

Natural African-American hair has always been a center of intrigue. Whether it's tightly curled or in braids, black men's hair often beckons others to run their fingers through it.

Hair styling for men has evolved over time. Today, there is so much that men can do with their hair without being criticized or ostracized. That is why braids and cornrows for men are extremely popular.

Take, for example, a smooth style for sexy men braids like the inside out cornrow or french braid. Start by deciding how you want your whole head to look when you are done. Either draw it out or just part the hair and braid as you go.

Though you start with three strands, when you do the inside out braid you pull the hair underneath the braid as you grab and braid the strands. Unlike a standard cornrow, it's an underhanded technique that creates this style. Repeat this step for each cornrow until you have created your style or covered the desired amount of your head. These easily done by men, braids like these can be seen in medium-to-long hair.

A very funky hair style for short hair, is a two-strand twist. It can be done with hair as short as 1/2 inch long. It's a very simple style that is done by parting or separating the hair in small sections. Using two strands of hair, twist them around each other to the ends. This unisex (women and men) braids style can also be done on longer hair. You keep following this technique until you have as many twists or as much of the hair twisted as you desire.

With either of these styles, hair grooming for men shouldn't be harder than getting a soft bristle brush and scalp oil. Make each do double duty by rubbing less than a dime-sized amount of the scalp oil over the bristles of your brush before you run it through your hair.

Black men with braids can be as well groomed as their low-cut, barbershop faded counterparts. As long as you choose a style that compliments your natural features, you are sure to turn heads with those gorgeous locks.
